Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball programs are categorized by age, but the baseball and softball programs function differently to determine age categories. For baseball programs, the birthdates are not calendar year, but rather Sept 1 - Aug 31 of the following year. For softball, the divisions are based on birth years (Jan 1 - Dec 31 of the same year.) Read below for more specific information!
Early Development & Baseball: To calculate players' baseball age, use this calculator. The registration forms will automatically determine the applicable Divisions(s) based on birth date. Generally, if your player’s age overlaps two divisions and you are unsure which to select, please register in the lower age group. Players may be moved up or down a Division based on skill level. Registration fees will be adjusted accordingly for players playing in a higher or lower division.
For more information about each Division such as player commitment, schedule, and equipment required please refer to each individual Division page.
As a guideline of how each Division functions relative to age, commitment and program structure, refer to this table.
Softball: Softball registration is based on birth years (i.e. U11 players are born in 2015 & 2016, U9 players are born in 2017 & 2018, etc). There is occasionally an opportunity for players to "play up" an age category, but they will never be permitted to "play down" as per Softball BC regulations.
